Advanced Training Products, Inc. provides solutions for workplace safety concerns resulting from recreational cannabis legalization
** For Immediate Release **
Avon, NJ, December 12, 2023 - The Cannabis Regulatory, Enforcement Assistance, and Marketplace Modernization (CREAMM) Act recognized the importance of workplace safety with the legalization of recreational cannabis. Though cannabis is not the only cause of workplace impairment, a survey published in the National Institute of Health, National Library of Medicine found that nearly half those surveyed admitted to being intoxicated at work from alcohol, while nearly 60 percent said they had used drugs at work in the preceding year.1 (Frone & Brown, 2010)
The National Safety Council surveyed employers and found that 45 percent of workplace near-miss accidents are caused by substance abuse2 (National Safety Council, 2021) and estimates that the annual cost of workplace accidents exceeds $100 billion.3 (Worker Injury Costs, 2021) Deaths and injuries are a far too common result of workplace impairment.
The CREAMM Act established the role of the Workplace Impairment Recognition Expert ("WIRE") and calls for the development of programs to identify impairment to keep the workplace safe. Advanced Training Products, Inc., a leader in workplace impairment recognition and evaluation training, is proud to announce its innovative WIRE Certified Training™ program.
